Notice is hereby given that SEALED PROPOSALS for:

Will be received as individual bids until 7:00 pm prevailing time in Monday 22 April 2019 at the offices
located at One Ninth Avenue, East Northport, New York 11731 at which time the Bids will be publically
opened and read aloud
A complete Bid document (General and supplementary and other conditions and complete sets of blue
prints) can be obtained from Atlantic Blueprint located at 1070 Old Northern Blvd., Roslyn, NY 11576.
Telephone number 516-484-3888 in either electronic or paper format. Bidder can also access the
project online at the printer’s web site: www.atlanticblueprint.com. A complete set of bid documents
can be received in paper format from the Fire District offices also at One Ninth Avenue, East Northport,
NY 11731 at a purchase price of One Hundred Dollars ($100.00). Non-refundable checks for sets of
printed documents are to be made payable to the EAST NORTHPORT FIRE DISTRICT
Bid documents may be obtained beginning Monday April 1, 2019
Bids must be made in the standard proposal form in the manner designated therein and as required by
the Specifications, and must be enclosed in sealed envelopes bearing the name of the job and name and
address of the bidder on the outside, addressed to: EAST NORTHPORT FIRE DISTRICT, clearly marked on
the outside: Bid For: CONSTRUCTION OF PRE-ENGINEERED BUILDING along with the contract section for
which the bidis being submitted. Please note a contractor can bid on multiple contracts, which are
detailed above provided that each contract bid is submitted in a separate envelope as detailed above.
Each proposal submitted must be accompanied by a certified check or bid bond, made payable to the
EAST NORTHPORT FIRE DISTRICT, in the amount equal to five percent (5%) of the total amount of the
bid, as a commitment by the bidder that, if its bid is accepted, it will enter into a contract to perform the

work and will execute such further security as may be required for faithful performance of the contract.
Certification of bonding company is required for this bid, see instruction to bidder section
A separate Performance Bond and Payment Bond, each equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the
contract amount will also be required of the successful bidders, and the bonds shall be from a surety
licensed to practice business in the State of New York, satisfactory to the Fire District. The form of the
bonds shall be in accordance with AIA Documents A310-1970 as set forth in the General Conditions and
the AIA Document A101 attached thereto. A Pre-Bid Meeting is scheduled for 10:00 AM, April 8, 2019 at
1 9th Avenue, East Northport, New York 11731 with a walk through of the construction site located at
202 Laurel Road, East Northport, New York 11731 immediately following the meeting. Prospective
bidders are strongly encouraged to attend. All questions and request for clarifications must be

Wages to workers, laborers and mechanics employed to work on this project, shall be paid in
accordance with Section 220 of the Labor Law, and in accordance with the Prevailing Rate Schedules
found in the Project Manual, and proof of such payment will be required
Each bidder shall agree to hold his/her price for (30) days after the formal bid opening
It is the intention of the Board of Fire Commissioners to award the contract to the lowest qualified
bidder who can meet the experience, technical and budget requirements. The Board of Fire
Commissioners reserves the right to waive any irregularities and/or noncompliance with the bid
specifications for any bid, or to reject any and all bids and to re-advertise to invite new bids, or to accept
the whole or part of any bid or bids from one or more bidder whenever the Commissioners determine it
is the best interest of the District
The bidder to whom the above referenced contract may be awarded, shall within five (5) days after the
receipt of Notice to Proceed, provide insurance and security as required by the above referenced
contract in a form acceptable to the Board of Fire Commissioner. In the case of the bidder’s failure to
do so, or in case of the bidder’s failure to give security as prescribed, the bidder will be considered as
having abandoned the same and the certified check or other bid security accompanying the proposal
shall be forfeited to the District
Owner’s Tax Exempt Status: The Owner is a non-profit institution and is exempt from paying all sales
and excise taxes in connection with purchases for goods or services, including labor, materials, products,
and equipment in accordance with applicable laws of the State of New York and the Internal Revenue
Code. Bids include all costs associated with the project. By submitting a bid, the bidder represents that
they are familiar with the site and project conditions. Additionally, prior to submitting its bid,
Contractor shall make Architect and Owner aware of any problems and/or inconstancies in the bid
documents
