The Copiague Union Free School District will receive individual sealed bids on or before 8:30am, June 29 2016 for:
Capital Improvement Projects – Summer 2016:

The District will receive the bids at the Copiague UFSD District Office, 2650 Great Neck Road, Copiague, New York 11726 and all such bids that have been received in accordance with the terms hereof will be publicly opened and read aloud.
The District invites bidders to bid on the work described in the Bid Documents that falls within the following bid package:
Capital Improvement Projects – Summer 2016:

Generator Project and Sanitary Piping Project

Copiague Middle School
SED # 58-01-05-03-0-004-023

Susan E. Wiley Elementary School

The project includes, but is not limited to, work at the Copiague Middle School consisting of generator replacement work, (b) work at Walter G. O’Connell Copiague High School and Susan E. Wiley Elementary School consisting of sanitary piping replacement. Each bid shall be on a stipulated sum basis for the following contracts:

Bidders must use the Bid Proposal Forms included with the Bid Documents in order to make their bids, and each bid must be in accordance with those forms and submitted in duplicate.

The Bid Documents may be obtained upon a deposit of $100.00 made payable to the “Copiague Union Free School District” for each complete set. The Bid deposit will be returned upon receipt of the plans and specifications, in good condition, within thirty (30) days after the bid date. Personal checks will not be accepted.

There will be a pre-bid conference at the Susan E. Wiley Elementary School, Scudder Avenue, Copiague, New York at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, June 21, 2016. A walkthrough at the project site will immediately follow the pre-bid conference. Bidders are urged to attend the pre-bid conference as the Owner, Architect and consultants will be present to discuss the Project. Knowledge of the site is crucial to obtain a proper understanding of the work. Unless directed otherwise, immediately upon entering the building, report to the receptionist. Attendees should anticipate a thirty (30) minute question and answer session. The Architect will transmit to all Bidders a written addenda in response to questions arising at the pre-bid conference.

Each proposal must be accompanied by a certified check payable to Copiague Union Free School District or by a Bid Bond for a sum equal to ten percent (10%) of the bid, conditioned as set forth in the Instructions to Bidders. All bid security, except those of the three low bidders will be returned within ten (10) days after bids are submitted. The bid security provided by the three low bidders will be returned after the execution of the Contract.

The District will require the successful bidder to provide a “Performance and Labor and Materials Payment Bond” as specified in the Bid Documents.
The Contract will be awarded to the lowest responsible bidder within forty-five (45) days of the date of opening bids. To the fullest extent allowed by law, the District reserves the right to reject bids that contain omissions, exceptions or modifications, or in their sole discretion to waive such irregularities, or to reject any or all bids or to accept any bid which is in the best interest of the District.

All bids shall be sealed and in an envelope that is clearly marked “Capital Improvement Projects – Summer 2016: Generator Project and Sanitary Piping Project.” Such bids must be delivered to Peter Michaelsen, Assistant Superintendent for Business, Copiague UFSD, or his/her designee, no later than 8:30 am on June 29, 2016, at the Copiague UFSD, 2650 Great Neck Road, Copiague, New York 11726. The District will not open or consider any Bid unless it is received at that location by no later than 8:30am on June 29, 2016. Bidders are solely responsible for the arrival of each bid at the place of the bid opening by the appointed time, regardless of the means of delivery.
